WHERE IS YOUR FISH FROM?

We use fresh farmed Atlantic Salmon. We need consistent fresh fish 12 months of the year.

WHERE DO YOU GET YOUR SMOKED SALMON FROM?

We smoke it in house! We do the entire process from start to finish in our store.

DO YOU MAKE YOUR OWN BAGELS?

We get our bagels from St. Urbain (the Bathurst and Eglinton location). We are not bakers, we are fish smokers!

YOU SELL YOUR BAGELS FROZEN DURING THE WEEK! DOES THAT MEAN THEY AREN’T FRESH?

Nope! We get fresh bagels, slice them, bag them and then freeze them.  We think this is the best way to keep Montreal bagels fresh.  Frozen does not mean NOT fresh! If you are worried, we give you a bagel care card on how we like to store and re-heat the bagels, so you too can be a bagel pro.

DO YOU HAVE DINE IN SEATING?

Yep!

DO YOU TAKE RESERVATIONS?

No, but tables turn quickly and there is usually plenty of room for all.

ARE YOU KIDDO FRIENDLY?

We are very family friendly. We have a highchair for smaller children. There is plenty of room for strollers, wagons and scooters. We have coloring pages and crayons! We even have a kid bagel (Montreal bagel with a smaller portion of lox and cream cheese).

WHEN ARE YOU CLOSED?

Every Tuesday! But be sure to check our website/social media pages for most up to date hours of operation and irregular closures.

DO YOU CATER?

Yes we do.  We cater for all events, big or small. If you want us to cater for you, please fill out our contact form or send us an email (loxandschmeartotonto@gmail.com) stating how many people you would like to feed, what you are interested in and we will make a customized menu just for you!

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

We accept Debit and Cash. 

DO YOU OFFER GLUTEN FREE BAGELS?

Yes. We offer gluten free bagels that come from a strictly gluten free facility, but we cannot guarantee that no cross contamination will occur in our space. We try our best to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies.
